The All-age Norfolk Autism partnership was set up to respond to the Autism Act. It aims to help develop improved services for children, young people and adults who have, or who may have autism.

The All-age Norfolk Autism Partnership (NAP) is a collaborative of autistic people, their parents / carers, autism service providers, voluntary and statutory organisations. Members of the Board, while not obligated, offer their resources to manage the partnership.

There are many different ways to get involved in the work of the Norfolk Autism Partnership:

  • Subscribe to our newsletter
  • Give feedback on work in development to improve support and services for autistic people
  • Attend the Autism Norfolk Forum.
  • Get involved in the priority work of the Board through being a member of a working group.
  • Get involved in the priority work of the Board through being a member of the Board.

The Board makes decisions to drive the work of developing the partnerships response to autism strategy. It meets bi-monthly to inform and implement an action plan to deliver the local autism strategy ‘My Autism, Our Lives, Our Norfolk’.

The Board constantly seeks to raise awareness of autism within the wider community and works to help autistic people to be fully included in society.

The All-age Norfolk Autism Partnership Board (NAPB) is a partnership of autistic people, their parents / carers, autism service providers, voluntary and statutory organisations.

The Board itself is inclusive, ensuring the active participation of a wide range of experts by experience, parents and carers.

The Norfolk Autism Partnership Board takes feedback from the Autism Norfolk Forum and deliver plans to several different working groups. The Norfolk Autism Partnership Board particularly aims to influence the local authority and NHS commissioners to develop improved services for children, young people and adults who have or may have autism.

Working with autistic people, the NAPB have co produced a local autism strategy. It sets out how support and services need to develop in Norfolk.

The Norfolk Autism Partnership Board have also worked with public health to produce an assessment of autism needs.

The Norfolk Autism Partnership’s Oversight group is made up of Autistic people and their parents and carers. it is the role of this group to look at all the information gathered from the Autism Norfolk Forum, National and Local strategies, and communications we have through the website as well as their own lived experience to set the priorities and agenda for the Norfolk Autism Partnership Board.

This will ensure that the Norfolk Autism Partnership is focusing on the matters that truly matter to autistic people within Norfolk.

The Norfolk Autism Partnership Board Working Groups oversee the implementation of the plans set out by the Board. These groups are inclusive and involve autistic people, parents and carers and experts by experience. Every member of the group has a defined role, with responsibility and ownership to explore all solutions to problems.

Autism Norfolk Forum is a place for autistic people of all ages and their families, along with anyone with an interest in autism, to engage with each other. It’s a place where you can share your experiences of autism in the knowledge that it will inform the current and future priorities of the Norfolk Autism Partnership Board. At each forum, you can get updates from members of the Board about its ongoing work.
