The Norfolk All Age Autism Strategy 2024-2029

A shared vision for improving support, services and opportunities for autistic people in Norfolk.

The Norfolk All Age Autism Strategy 2024–2029 sets out our shared vision and priorities for improving the lives of autistic children, young people and adults in Norfolk. It has been shaped by the views and experiences of autistic people, parents, carers and professionals, and provides a clear framework for action across local services, communities and organisations.

The six priority areas of the Norfolk All Age Autism Strategy were shaped by feedback from autistic people, parents, carers and professionals across Norfolk. Their views helped identify what matters most and what needs to change to make Norfolk a better place for autistic people to live, work and learn.

Developing the Norfolk All Age Autism Strategy 2024 - 2029

The Norfolk All Age Autism Strategy 2024–2029 was developed through a co-produced process involving autistic people, parents, carers and professionals from across Norfolk. A Strategy Reference Group was formed in August 2023 to review progress from the previous strategy, look at what still needed to change, and help shape the refreshed strategy for 2024–2029.

The Strategy Reference Group proposed six priorities based on the national autism strategy, and people were asked whether those priorities were important to them and what they meant in practice. The Norfolk Autism Partnership then held a series of focus groups, both online and in person, between January and March 2024 to gather further feedback. This work helped shape the six priorities of the Norfolk All Age Autism Strategy 2024–2029.

Action Plans and Progress Reports

The strategy is monitored each month through the Norfolk Autism Strategy Oversight Group, which receives updates from partners on actions and progress. Each year, we produce an Action Plan and a You Said, We Did update to show what has been achieved. To explore these, click on a year below.
