NAP Board Minutes – 28 January 2025

The Norfolk Autism Partnership Board (NAPB) held its latest meeting to discuss key issues, updates, and future initiatives supporting autistic individuals in Norfolk.

Key Discussions:

  • Diagnosis Waiting Times:
    • 1,177 adults are currently waiting for an autism assessment.
    • Average monthly referrals have decreased by 25% compared to last year.
    • Efforts are ongoing to improve tracking for those using the “Right to Choose” pathway.
  • Oliver McGowan Training Update:
    • Training for professionals on supporting autistic people is progressing well.
    • The team has grown to 36 experts, including autistic trainers.
    • Booking systems and governance processes are now in place.
  • Autism Strategy Oversight Group Updates:
    • The Year One Plan has been approved and published.
    • Regular updates and tracking systems are now implemented.
    • A BRAG (Blue, Red, Amber, Green) rating system will be used to track progress.
  • Autism Acceptance Week 2025 (March 31 – April 6):
    • This year’s theme is “Colour” to promote autism awareness and inclusion.
    • Volunteers are needed for planning event
  • Upcoming Events & Initiatives:
    • NAPB will have a stand at the Co-Production event on 9th July 2025 at The Forum.
    • A video project is in progress to highlight NAPB’s impact.
    • Autism Service Norfolk is transitioning to a new provider, ABL Health. Updates to follow.
