  • Leadership & Governance Updates:
    • Minutes and action log approved.
    • Updates on Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) and autism representation in the LD&A Board postponed due to ongoing governance restructuring.
    • Development of pre- and post-diagnosis information leaflets in progress.
  • Diagnostic Updates:
    • Adult Diagnosis: 674 adults on the waiting list (24% increase).
    • Children & Young People: 5,496 on the waiting list (Norfolk Community Health Trust) and 1,662 (James Paget Hospital).
    • Ongoing re-engineering of adult autism diagnostic pathways and review of neurodevelopmental referral routes.
  • Social Care Reform Programme:
    • Presentation on Liquidlogic Adults System (LAS) Client Portal, designed to improve access to social care records.
    • Pilot programs in place; users can securely view documents, complete financial assessments, and communicate with social care teams.
    • Feedback welcomed to improve accessibility and usability.
  • Autism Strategy Reference Group:
    • Developing new communication tools and engagement methods for the Norfolk Autism Strategy refresh.
    • Board agreed to receive regular updates and review all proposed strategy documents.
  • Coalition for Change & Cawston Park Response:
    • Board invited to join the Coalition for Change, focused on improving care provision.
    • Decision postponed until representatives can provide further details at a future meeting.
  • Education & Awareness Initiatives:
    • Video on autistic role models in schools shared with the Board and approved for wider distribution.
    • Anne Freud Centre offering £500 incentives for schools completing autism training.
  • Norfolk Autism Adult Support Service:
    • Realise Futures awarded contract for new adult support service launching in January 2024.
    • Aims to improve access to support and wellbeing resources for autistic adults.

Next Steps:

  • Continue reducing diagnostic waiting times and improving service accessibility.
  • Roll out LAS Client Portal and gather user feedback.
  • Advance engagement for the Norfolk Autism Strategy refresh.
  • Organize further discussions on Coalition for Change membership.
